Swell Sculpture Festival-Calling for Submissions $60000 closing 15Mar 2010

Swell Sculpture Festival invites submissions from artists to exhibit in the 2010 exhibition.

 

 

Applications will be be accepted till 15 March 2010.

 

The eighth annual, free outdoor sculpture exhibition will be held along Currumbin Beach from the 10 – 19 September 2010. Swell Sculpture Festival provides artists with the opportunity to exhibit in a highly regarded exhibition set within a visually stimulating, expansive coastal landscape.

Artists will vie for up to $60,000 in Awards and Acquisitions with the Gold Coast City Council acquiring a sculpture up to $20,000 for Division 14 and Satterley Property Group acquiring two works both of up to $20,000 and $10,000.

Other awards include the highly popular People’s and Kids’ Choice Awards, Emerging Artist Award, Environmental Awareness Award, Media Award and Artist Peer Award.

Exhibiting 55 sculptures, Swell Sculpture Festival supports full freedom of expression for all forms of sculpture and encourage submissions. The curatorial panel includes Queensland Government Architect Philip Follent and Donna Marcus, renowned artist and senior lecturer at the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University.
